Michael Dillhyon
Halo, I'm Michael Dillhyon. Entrepreneur, Investor, Doer.
Michael Dillhyon is a Managing Partner at Avadilon, a Swiss-based investment and advisory firm focused on shepherding emerging technology firms from startup to global. His passion is building world class entrepreneurs. To that mission, in 2013, Michael has been elected to the adjunct role of Entrepreneur-in-Residence at one of Europe’s most prestigious universities: ETH.
Previous to Avadilon, Mr Dillhyon co-founded two US-based firms: Netelligent Corporationand ActiveObjects, where he held the roles of President, Chairman and CEO respectively. He exited Netelligent in 2008 as a result of a management buyout and ActiveObjects was acquired by VSR in 2010.
In addition to his Chairman role at Genebio and involvement on other Boards, Michael is on the Strategic Advisory Committee for HealthTIES, an EU-backed consortium of four of Europe’s top regions in biosciences, medical technology and health entrepreneurship
Michael presents regularly on the business of venture capital, entrepreneurship and the growing relevance of personalized healthcare technology at events in both the US and Europe. In 2012 he presented at a number of events including the London Olympic Future of Health, INSEAD Entrepreneurship Week, EU Climate-KIC Venture Competition, CES, World Mobile Congress and regional startup events such as Mobicamp. In addition to presenting, Michael actively mentors entrepreneurs through well known initiatives such as the Pipeline Fellowship.
Mr. Dillhyon holds degrees in Biochemistry and Anthropology from Florida State University, as well as a MBA from Washington University. He has completed residencies at Harvard Business School (OPM), the London School of Business, UC-Berkeley (Venture Capital Executive) and Fudan University in China.
Born in the US (Miami), Michael now lives with his wife and two children in the canton of Zug, Switzerland.
